Our reserves in south-west WA are home to a rainbow of wispy-petaled Featherflower species. Their Latin name (Verticordia) means ‘turner of hearts’ and that’s what these beauties do!

The Thorny Devil is much gentler than its name suggests. This ant-eating reptile can change colour and has grooves between its scales that channel moisture to its mouth!

Australia’s largest bird of prey and one of the biggest eagles in the world with a wingspan of more than two metres. These powerful birds are monogamous: they mate for life.

The Golden-shouldered Parrot is famed for its bright jewel-like colouring. A totem species for the Olkola people of central Cape York, it is known as ‘Alwal’ in Olkola language.
